Seed (2015) - My first sculpture

I want to tell you a little story about how i became sculptor. Before i made Seed, i did already miniature things out of wood. I did a lot! But this was my first experience of carving something more than me. 

That time i was living in the suburbs of SaintP. And once I was lucky to get the log of larch from my lumberjack friend. I was doubly lucky because the same time i got order to make sculpture out of this log. It was supposed to be an abstract sculpture 2 meters high made in my style. The work took one month of time. That was absolutely new feelings for me. 

This work made me realize that I can do a lot. I can turn over a 500 kg log by myself. I myself can find in the material an interesting and attractive form of large size.

I also realized that the wood is talking to me and letting me know what to do with it. All these curves, bulges and holes occur naturally and logically by themselves with my help.

I am just a conductor of energy. I watch with surprise and joy what is happening and admire the result.
